Why is it that the vehicle of choice of firefighters is a pickup?

It looked like a Nebraska football Saturday in Lincoln on our block with the way cars were lined up and down the curb today. No, it wasn't a party. Rather, fellow firefighters of our neighbor whose house caught fire earlier in the week came over to help clean up.

Working with incredible efficiency, they gutted the entire house of its contents, as well as knocked down all the walls, leaving behind only the exposed wood framework. Elapsed time: 90 minutes. Dumpsters used: three. Impressed YDs: seven.
