Visit to Gifford Farm

Dad took three of the girls to Gifford Farm today for an Open House of sorts. It was a chance for Emily, Lauren and Julia to see the animals their Dad usually shelters them from (because of his traumatic childhood).Grandma Bep (pictured at right) joined us after we watched a presentation in a makeshift planetarium (which collapsed when someone pulled the plug on the inflatable dome). She took us around to see the pigs, ducks, chickens and some sawhorses Uncle Joe made yesterday.
The girls especially liked the smoke screen the van created from dust kicked up on the dirt road.

What traumatic childhood? I was there also and don't remember something traumatic.

I wasn't there (too young), but the only Sean-childhood stories I remember that involved trauma / drama had to do with Snickerdoodles and bicycles. While I believe the former has been banished from your life, I don't remember you "sheltering" yourself or your kids from the latter.

The trauma involved animals, specifically dogs.
