Feeling Hungry? Call A Play For Dad's Team

Laura gets ready to shoot in the "Arby's" play.

Earlier this season, Mom suggested that Dad contact McDonald's about sponsoring his fourth grade girls basketball team. After all, they had a play called "McDonald's" that he brought with him from his coaching days last year at St. Thomas More.

Three months later, Dad and his players wouldn't go hungry if they had all the fast food restaurants with plays named after them sponsoring the team. To date, they have plays called "Burger King," "Sonic," "Arby's," "Wendy's," and the original "McDonald's" play. They also have "Diamond," "Double Diamond," "Phoenix," "Orlando," "Triple E," "French Dip" and "Disneyland." Yes, it's a lot to remember, but the girls seem to do just fine.

Thursday night they'll be watching film because the gymnasium is unavailable. Last year's team did the same thing and Emily says it was "a lot of fun." The other girls on the team think they're going to watch a movie. So for now, they think it's a great idea, too.

Next we can install "Mustang" to the girls arsenal. Yet another holdover play from our high school days.
