Grilling Out

Mom taught the girls the fine art of creating shish kabob

When Mom and Dad were first married, they used to grill out on their apartment porch quite a bit. But lately, that hasn't been the case.

So, seeking to revive the backyard tradition, Mom stocked up on vegetables at the grocery store and spent most of the morning getting them ready and marinating the meat (one of the secrets to delicious shish kabob).

The girls had fun putting the food on skewers and Dad did his usual fine job of grilling them up. But when it came time to eat their creations, most of the girls passed. ("Too many vegetables," was the most common complaint.)
