How Good Is Emily's Team?

Just how well is Emily's basketball team playing? Well, you already know they are undefeated. But did you know they lead the league in defense? And that they are just three points shy of being the top-scoring team in the league?

Credit their great defense. Running the trapping, 1-3-1 defense that the late Coach Jim Kane of Elkhorn Mount Michael made his trademark, the Spartans are holding their opponents to an average of seven points a game. That's less than two points a quarter.

Offensively, they are working on converting more of their scoring opportunities off turnovers and steals into more points. But with a 27-points-per-game average, they are scoring at a pretty good clip. (They play six minute quarters.)
