Speaking of Small Bikes...

Today, Julia encouraged Olivia to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels. So Olivia asked Dad to take off the training wheels and show her how it's done.

As usual, the front yard was the training grounds (as it was - at this house - for Lauren and Julia) because of its grassy surface - which is a lot softer than crashing out on the pavement.

Dad took Olivia around and around, noting that she did very well on the uphills and not so well when she was coasting.

"It's kinda hard," Olivia said, "because I have to move my wheels."

Unlike Julia, Emily and Lauren, Olivia did not learn how to ride without training wheels in one day. We'll see how she does tomorrow.
