Lauren Gets A Visit From Lu

The Fourth of July was a particularly special one this year for Lauren. That's because she finally lost that little tooth that was hanging on in the front of her mouth for so long.

The only concern we had - initially - was that we did not have the Tooth Fairy bear. But Lauren managed to find it between Julia's closet and her bed. She had it last and had initially forgot to put it out for Lu to pick up. Then, when she did put it out, Lu didn't make it and then Julia misplaced it. (We're so glad Lauren found it!)

So this morning, Lauren woke up - coughing - to find a plethora of things Lu left for her. Lauren says she actually woke up at 2:30 a.m. and needed a breathing treatment, but was afraid Lu had not yet stopped by - so she toughed it out until this morning.

So you can imagine Lauren's excitement this morning when she found all the great stuff under her pillow. Here's what Lu had to say in her note:

Dearest Lauren,

Congratulations! Finally! The Dental Queen will be thrilled to see this tooth! Thank you. Happy Fourth of July. Did I hear someone say that you are going on a trip to Mt. Rushmore? How exciting! It is huge! I could get lost there. Since we both have waited so long for this tooth, it deserves a special gold dollar, don't you think? Also, I am leaving you a special fairy book to read on your trip and a one-of-a-kind fairy pen. Doesn't she look like me? Maybe you could use it to write in your journal? I love you, have a fun, safe trip.
