A Hectic Halloween

Ready to Trick or Treat
The motley crew is ready to hit the streets.

Where are all the pictures from Halloween?

Well, the camera was off to school this morning before Dad could download them.

Halloween is always a crazy day - even if the students don't get to dress up or have a costume parade. There's still the room parties. And it appeared that the teachers at St. Mary's couldn't wait for the final bell to ring.

Veronica and FriendMom, Dad and Veronica stopped by the parties to see what they had to offer. Lauren was decorating a trick-or-treat bag, Emily was taking pictures with classmates and having one of the room mothers print them out (on her way cool photo printer) and Olivia was playing "Binghost."

Julia was seated at her desk, waiting for treats to be passed out, the first time Dad stopped in. The second time he poked his head around the door, Julia and her classmates were listening to a story. Contrast that with Lauren's class, which played a game that involved wrapping people up in toilet paper to look like mummies. Emily's class had the best food - ice cream, little dessert sandwich cookies, water and candy.

When it was all over, Mom got ready for the next day (a pretty intensive task, considering she had to change out all her "October" items to "November" so we hung out for awhile. Dad even took the girls down to the gymnasium to kill some time.

Lauren's CandySince cousin Steve would be joining us for trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, we decided to get pizza "early" in Bellevue. Somehow "early" turned into not arriving home until nearly 7 p.m. (so much for some daylight trick-or-treating). First stop: houses in our neighborhood. Second stop: houses in our old neighborhood. Final stop: Grandma and Grandpa YD's house (at nearly 9 p.m.).

As for the loot, it included two mini "Chuckie" dolls, lots of chocolates and no literature this year (last year, one of our neighbors handed out some Christian-oriented comic books).

One of the "cooler" houses we visited. (Dark video.)
