What Is With This Weather?

When Dad's return flight to Omaha from Georgia was preparing to land, the captain informed everyone of the current weather conditions in Omaha:

"Mostly sunny, wind out of the north, 10-15 miles per hour, temperature of 35 degrees."

Thirty-five degrees? In late April? Are you kidding?

What happened to global warming? The trees are certainly not enjoying this cruel joke of a spring cold snap. Very few of them have leaves, only a few green buds. The grass is green and growing, though by this time, Dad would have cut it two or three times. It's probably ready to be mowed now.

The girls and Mom were excited to see Dad yesterday. Veronica gave him a big hug when Mom and Dad picked her up from Tante Frans, who had been watching her at Apples & More. The girls also loved their souvenirs: Team Type 1 water bottles. Dad brought Mom a T-shirt and some salt water taffy.
