Meet Team Type 1's Timothy Hargrave
We had a special visitor to the house this weekend: Timothy Hargrave of Team Type 1. The New Zealand native (or "Kiwi" as they call folks from that country) was in Omaha for the Nebraska Tour de Cure ride.
But he also managed to squeeze in dinner at our house Saturday night. Mom played the gracious host, fixing up all the meat and vegetables so the girls could build Shish Kabobs. Combined with a tossed salad, some rice and plenty of beverages, it proved to be quite the meal. We even had a delicious dessert to top it all off (again, Mom working her magic in the kitchen).
The girls enjoyed Timothy's accent - and pestered him to no end to say words like "car" and "belly button" (which he called a "tummy button"). They also spent time studying a world map with him to get an idea of where New Zealand is. (Do you know?)
We'll be following Timothy closely in the coming weeks when he embarks on the Race Across America, a 3,000-mile transcontinental race that Team Type 1 has won the past two years (in the eight-person corporate team division).
