First Day of School: 2006

The Fabulous Five
Veronica is blowing kisses as the other girls strike their best pose.

The first day of school at the YD house is always filled with excitement, anticipation and quite a bit of whining and screaming (usually by Lauren). This year was no exception.

The excitement meant no one had to be dragged out of their bed. They were all up a little after 6 a.m.

The anticipation was for a YD tradition on the first day of school: Aunt Dee-Dee bringing donuts. Unfortunately, she was running a little late this morning.

The whining and screaming was brought on by Lauren (of course), who complained that her "tummy hurt." (Maybe you should have eaten some breakfast, Lauren.)

Julia is ready
We've been waiting for years for Julia to hold this sign.

Emily's first day
Emily knows the drill: hold the sign and smile.

Lauren's first day
When you have to leave for school by 7 a.m., it can still be a little dark out, as Lauren's picture shows.

Veronica and Julia
Julia tried to clue in Veronica on what all the to-do was about this morning.

Mom with the camera
Mom was capturing all of Lauren's complaining on video.

Boy when I was in school, way back then, we didn't get the skirt only until 6th grade. Lucky Emily.

At least your girls posed better than my crew last week. Tried again today but they wouldn't cooperate so they will be cleaning after school.

Sorry I was late with the doughnuts...I'm not used to getting up this early!

And Sean ... that camera does have a flash...
