Veronica Update: At 16 Months

Veronica turns 16 months old today, so it's time for her monthly "status report."
As you can see from the pictures above, she's changed quite a bit. But through it all, she's certainly made an impact on the family - and can no means be called a "quiet" child.
Although Dad is staunchly opposed to nicknames, Veronica has developed quite a few. She is known as "Verone" (pronounced Ver'OWN), "Vergonicka," "Vergon" (pronounced Ver'Gahn) and "Girder." (We're not sure of the origin of that one.) Most of these are the doing of Olivia (who has become called "Poolie" by some of her sisters).
Veronica has also added to her vocabulary. She can say, "Mom," "Dad," "Bep," "Dee-Dee," "Ee-ee" (which is "excuse me), "Uh-oh," and "Eeew" (usually after Emily asks her if she has gone poop).
Veronica also understands people quite well. Aunt Jean recently told Veronica that she was tired. So Veronica went into Aunt Jean's bedroom and got her a blanket. She also isn't shy about tugging on your shirt or pants and taking you into the kitchen if she wants a drink or something to eat.
For some reason, she has an infatuation for wearing someone else's shoes. She loves to take Dad's shoes and clomp around.
As for eating, she has quite the appetite. She has also ditched her binky (which went very well) and is down to drinking one bottle of warm milk before bedtime. Speaking of bedtime, if you start singing the "Night Night" song or even start talking about going to bed, she'll start crying. It's only after reassuring her that she "won't miss anything," that she calms down.

1 Comments:
Actually, they call Olivia "Poovie," which she hates ... despite the fact that she's the #1 bestower of nicknames in the household...
