Pac Woman

Lauren drew this picture for Dad tonight.
Lauren is quite the artist, as many of you know from her previous works shown on this blog.

Today, she added to her collection of fine art by presenting Dad with this marker drawing of "Pac Woman."

Dad was wondering how Lauren suddenly came up with the idea to draw a character from a popular 80s video game. That is, until he stumbled across a story online that Pac Man will be reborn on Microsoft's Xbox Live online service as a final tribute for designer Toru Iwatani, who is retiring from the $30 billion games industry he helped ignite.

Anyway, you'll notice this is not just one ordinary Pac Woman. This one has details. For instance, you can clearly see what time she finished drawing the page (7:54 p.m.) and who it is to (Dad) and who drew it ("Rain Man" - Lauren's nickname). It is also dated (6/5/07) and it even comes with the customary smiley face that Mom typically puts after her signature. (And this one even has a little Pac Man.)

According to Lauren, Pac Woman is Pac Man's wife (duh!). She likes to eat dots, just like Pac Man. She also likes to have her hair down by Lauren. Today, it is fashioned in a ponytail.
