Our Trip Continues!

Even more pics from the Shriner's HospitalMeagan even took time out for herself!

This is our good friend, Dedra. She has molded, created and adjusted Lauren's braces since we started coming to the Shriner's a long time ago. Since the next day was Dedra's birthday, we sang to her of course. Or as Veronica sings it, "Happy Day-Doo!"

Mall of America—Woohoo!!!
Ok, this may not look like a trip to the infamous Mall of America but, it is the end result. The girls chose to spend part of their souvenir money (thanks to Aunt Jean, Grandmas Weide and Bep, and Mom and Dad) on a Webkinz (a fairly new, highly-addictive web-based stuffed toy.) Each toy comes with a code, which enables its owner to activate a virtual house for the pet on the internet. By playing games and answering trivia questions online, you earn Kinzcash, which is then spent caring for and buying things for your pet. Here are the girls sharing Dad's laptop, registering their newly adopted Webkinz! Ahhh, technology.

Back on the road meant... More Stickers!

We drove from Sioux Falls, SD all the way across the state to Rapid City in one afternoon. The girls were great travelers. We stopped along the way and saw the World Famous Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD, a pioneer homestead complete with sod house and outhouse near the Blackhills, and of course, Wall Drug in Wall, SD. I forgot to recharge the camera battery in Sioux Falls so I am waiting for Meagan to share her pics with us. She has a "dinosaur" camera and is waiting for the film to be developed. Will share them when we get them in 2015. (Just teasin', Meg!) For the record, the girls were less than impressed with Wall Drug. I think the Corn Palace got better reviews from our critics. Could it have been the 75¢ cotton candy? Hmmm?

Rapid City, South Dakota

After driving all day, the girls decided to enjoy the jacuzzi tub in our hotel room for the first of many times! Special thanks to Grandma Weide and Grandma Bep for contributing funds for this little bit of luxury. The girls have made so many memories. We stayed here for two nights and visited many of the surrounding sights.
Emily chose to spend her time more constructively—HA! She was watching an episode of Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel; the jacuzzi can wait!

Still more to come....
