Sure, Now They Can Dress Up
See if you understand this one.
The students at St. Mary's school can't dress up for Halloween. But they can dress up the following day as their favorite saint.
Judging from the costumed YD girls who went out the door Thursday, Dad doesn't see the difference. But that's how it goes. Lauren was Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, who was canonized the day her Aunt Annabelle (whose name is "Ann Elizabeth") was born.
The girls were exhausted Thursday, as you can imagine, after the late night Wednesday. In fact, except for Emily, they were all sound asleep before Emily came home from basketball practice at 8 p.m. Emily, though, stayed up with Dad to watch the UNO football team beat South Dakota on national television (CSTV).
The weekend is shaping up to be extraordinarily busy. It begins with Dad's first basketball practice for Emily's team Friday afternoon, followed by Emily's volleyball game at night. But that's not all. We will actually be missing not one, but two of Emily's Ice basketball games, as well as the UNO Maverick hockey game. Two more volleyball games are still to come on Saturday, followed by another basketball practice for Emily on Sunday. And, without checking the calendar, there's probably a classmate's birthday party for at least one of the girls. Those seem to come around about once a month.
Don't forget to set your clocks back this weekend. And remember, it's "Daylight SAVING (without an "s" on the end) Time."

Hey, thanks for the reminder about Daylight Savings Time. I hate this time of year because of how it screws up the kids' bedtime!
