Checking Those Brackets

And Emily thought she was under pressure on those inbound passes.
The first and second round games of the NCAA Tournament at the Qwest Center Omaha have come and gone, so now it's time to update those brackets.

Emily has 11 of 16 teams still in her bracket. Wow.

Julia has eight. Not bad.

Veronica has have five teams left, while Olivia has four. Hmmm... That's probably about as good as Dad would have done.

Some of you have wondered how the girls would be doing if we were tracking points for the brackets. Here is how points are awarded:

First round win: 1 point
Second round win: 2 points
Sweet 16 win: 4 points
Elite Eight win: 8 points
Final Four win: 16 points
Correctly picking the champion: 32 points

So, using that system, here are the point standings:

Emily: 21 + 22 = 43
Julia: 21 + 16 = 37
Veronica: 16 + 10 = 26
Olivia: 13 + 8 = 21
