Takin' A Trip Back In Time

Dad Runs Cross CountryHere is something you don't see every day. This picture was taken 21 years ago at a district cross country meet on the campus of Dana College in Blair. The Springfield Platteview runner (far right) is Mike Henton, who went on to a pretty prolific running career. He was a member of the Cornhusker Flyers' 3,200-meter relay team that still holds the state record (8:00.68).

The other guy has less hair now and weighs nearly a 100 pounds more. He did run the lead leg on Mt. Michael's record-setting and Class B gold medal-winning 3,200 relay team (which clocked an 8:00.83).
