Dad Is Home
With special help from the logistics coordinator from his cycling team, Dad was able to make it back to Omaha Monday in time for Emily's basketball game.
He left his hotel at 4 a.m., took a cab to Los Angeles, flew out at 6 a.m., then waited on standby for five hours in Denver before getting a flight that put him in town just an hour before the game.
Emily's team played well, winning 23-13 against Christ the King to advance to Sunday's championship game. The Spartans will play St. Peter and Paul in a rematch of their only loss of the season.
The big excitement that came out of Dad's trip happened on Sunday, the final day of the race. The Toyota-United team won that afternoon's race along the streets of downtown Long Beach. It was pretty exciting, as you can imagine. Click here to read the press release Dad wrote and click here to see the pictures.
