Lauren's 9th Birthday Party
For all of you avid Webkinz fans... you missed a great party! And for those of you who have no idea what a Webkinz is... perhaps you should skip to the next blog entry.
Lauren's birthday guests were asked to bring all of the Webkinz that they owned. As they entered the front door, they were awarded 200 Kinzcash just for coming. As the party moved on, they realized that there were ways to earn more Kinzcash and ways to spend it. For example, if they answered a trivia question they earned 10 Kinzcash, and if they wanted to partake in the frosting of a "Wheel of WOW" cookie, they had to fork over 20 Kinzcash for the cookie, make a 1 Kinzcash deposit for the use of the knife and 1 Kinzcash would allow them one color of frosting to use.
We also had a Gem Hunt game and then created our own Webkinz Crowns of Wonder. Even Veronica got in on the action!
Our UNO hockey friends, Brian and Tracy showed up (not empty-handed) to Lauren's Webkinz party. Each of our five girls received a new Webkinz and a carrying purse to go with it, Webkinz, lipgloss, exclusive online pet trading cards and a school pencil kit! You'd think these were their nieces! Thanks guys, the girls loved your gifts!

Here are a few photos of the girls creating one-of-a-kind outfits for their Webkinz fo r our Webkinz Supermodelz showdown.

At the end of the day's festivities, the partygoer with the most Kinzcash shoved in her pocket was declared the grand prize winner of a brand new Webkinz pet! Lauren's friend, Marina took home the coveted animal.
A fun day was had by all! Happy Birthday, Lo Lo!

I would be remiss if I did not mention the endless wealth of support that I get from Bridget (Aunt Dee Dee) and Jon Brooks on these party days; and everyday! Thanks to you both!
And now, for a rare glimpse of Aunt Dee Dee being creative...

I am *not* crafty -- I leave that up to my super-duper sister-in-law!
I would be remiss, however, as the WebkinZ party treasurer, if I didn't correct the amounts listed. They were given $100 in Kinzcash upon arriving, could earn $20 in Kinzcash for correct trivia/survey answers, and paid $5 per color of frosting for their Wheel of Wow cookies.
All in all, we had a great time.
