A Little Bit Of Everything For Mom's Birthday

Mom was "in the money" on her birthday
- while Emily had to go the plastic route and charge it.

Paper chains, a crown and a scavenger hunt.

Those were all part of Mom's 40th birthday party Friday - and the girls certainly went to great lengths to make it a special one.

It began with Mom finding a pair of new white Birkenstocks (pictured at right) that the Birthday Fairy had left by her bed.

Once awake (too early, right Mom?), the girls had her participate in a scavenger hunt. Mom was on the lookout for a special prize and she found it - a $5 bill in the breadbox.

Next up was wearing a birthday crown Lauren made (see photo above) and sitting on a makeshift "birthday throne" that the girls made out of one of the patio furniture cushions. Emily made sure and put scotch tape on the seat because she knows how much Mom loves to see pieces of scotch tape on things (not really!).

The girls also made paper chains to decorate the house, as well as homemade cards (when you care enough to send the very best, of course). Dad's gift to Mom actually arrived earlier in the week - a tub of liquid peanut butter. Just like they use at the ice cream shops.
