Visitors and Crafts

Aunt Annabelle brought her girls and Dominic by for a visit.

Some special visitors dropped by Thursday afternoon. Normally, you wouldn't want to bring four youngsters over to a house where the chicken pox might be looming, but that was precisely what Aunt Annabelle had in mind. Apparently, she's been trying hard for some time to get her children exposed to the chicken pox.

Later on, the YD girls got busy in the dirt out front, using it to make mud cookies and cakes. As you can see from the picture, Lauren made an attractive cookie featuring dandelions and clovers (and mud). They filled the entire wagon with clovers and the driveway was covered with their handiwork. Even the overnight rains couldn't wash all the mud away.

As for Lauren and her chicken pox, Mom did an inspection this morning and found a few new pox on Lauren's back. So she's home until at least Monday. But she says she is getting better. ("I'm not as itchy!" she says.) She is also enjoying her first day home alone with Dad, since Julia was well enough to return to school today.

Veronica also spent a little time Thursday tuning up her skills on the piano (pictured below). She seems to have the fingering down, but her timing is a little off (just like her Dad).
