Emily and Dad's team stands alone at the top of the standings.
Emily and Dad's basketball team is the only undefeated team left in the CYO fifth grade girls league following St. Peter & Paul's loss to St. Bernadette last weekend. Dad is betting there were some serious tears flowing after that game because St. Peter & Paul had won 20 straight games, dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's of Bellevue defeated St. Bernadette when the two teams met a couple weeks ago - 22-19 - in a thriller. This puts the Spartans in the driver's seat for a possible regular season title. They must avoid the upset on the way to a showdown with St. Peter & Paul at St. Peter & Paul's gym on Feb. 16.

The question at this point is whether Dad will be at that game. A major bike race starts in California the next day and last year he missed the first game (of three) against St. Peter & Paul. The margin in each meeting between the two teams grew, too, so it would be nice to have him on the sidelines for the first game.
